Jill Pidcock

Jill Pidcock is the Executive Director of the Arc of the Central Mountains. She is actively involved in multiple Board of Directors and Committees, dedicated to raising awareness and implementing plans and services through organizations such as the Colorado Collaboration for Autism and other Neurological Disability Options (CO-CANDO), Family Supports and Services Program for the local Community Centered Board, and the Early Dispute Resolution Advisory Board. Furthermore, Jill serves as a facilitator for Parents Encouraging Parents (PEP), both programs managed by the Colorado Department of Education.

Beyond her professional commitments, Jill is a loving wife and mother of two sons, with the eldest being diagnosed with autism at the age of 2 years. Alongside her husband, they tirelessly work to foster a community-friendly lifestyle that is accessible, accommodating, and accepting of their son. When she’s not engaged in advocacy, Reverend Jill can be found officiating weddings throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.

Maribel Obreque

As the Director of Family Services with the Arc of the Central Mountains, Maribel plays a crucial role in supporting families and individuals in need. Her expertise lies in resource navigation and advocacy, and she is passionate about helping families understand the special education system and access local resources.

Maribel’s journey into this world of advocacy and support began with her own personal experience as a mother to two children with special needs. As a daughter of immigrants, Maribel is deeply committed to serving and elevating the voices of the Latino community. Her dedication to this cause is an essential part of her advocacy journey, and she continues to look for ways to support and amplify the voices of those around her.

Beyond her role with The Arc of the Central Mountains, Maribel is actively involved in other educational initiatives. Serving on the board for Compass for Lifelong Learning, a non-profit educational organization overseeing Aspen Community School and Carbondale School, she contributes to creating a more inclusive and nurturing learning environment for students of all abilities. Her appointment to the Charter School Institute Board of Directors by Governor Polis further highlights her commitment to education and inclusion.

Corey Mineo

Corey is a seasoned Roaring Fork Valley local with an unwavering passion for pushing the boundaries of his abilities. Armed with a degree in psychology and a proud alumnus of the prestigious Roaring Fork Leadership Academy, he is no stranger to unlocking the potential of the human mind.

Embracing his role as an integral member of our vibrant and close-knit community, Corey finds true fulfillment in contributing to the collective growth and prosperity. A strong advocate for accessibility and inclusion, he ardently champions the idea that everyone should have equal opportunities to thrive.

Sara Sims

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Sara moved to Colorado in 1994. She worked for a short time with adolescents in a residential treatment facility, and then joined the family at Mountain Valley Developmental Services, as an adult case manager in 1996. Sara became the Executive Director in July of 2018, a position she currently holds. Sara enjoys getting to know families whom the agency serves and does an amazing job of gently walking them through their daily celebrations and struggles.

Kaleb Cook

Kaleb Cook is a passionate advocate for the disability community. His journey began in kindergarten when he formed a cherished friendship with a classmate with Down syndrome, sparking a lifelong commitment to making a positive impact. As the founder of The Cook Inclusive Company, Kaleb has developed and implemented various programs that empower individuals with disabilities, such as the Inclusive Leadership Program. His dedication to fostering independence, workplace readiness, and leadership skills has earned him recognition, including the Leadership Pathways Project Grant from the American Camp Association. Kaleb brings his expertise and vision to further advance inclusive opportunities and create a more inclusive society for all.

Julia Lang

Meet Julia, a dedicated educator and passionate advocate for young adults with special needs. Her journey to the Roaring Fork Valley began with frequent visits, which eventually led her to make it her home in August of 2002. The decision to move here was driven by her desire to be closer to her twin sister and her sister’s family, establishing a stronger bond with her loved ones.

Julia’s commitment to empowering students with special needs has been a defining aspect of her career. After completing her Master of Arts in Special Education, she embarked on a fulfilling path as a Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher at Basalt High School within the Roaring Fork Schools. Her dedication and expertise led her to her current role as the Lead Transition Teacher of RFTW (Ready For The World), an essential 18-21 year old transitional services program offered by the district.

When she’s not making a difference in the lives of her students, Julia enjoys life in Glenwood Springs, where she shares her home with her loyal and loving companion, Gracie the dog. Together, they explore the beauty of the valley and create lasting memories.

Danielle Coulter

Hi, my name is Danielle Coulter and I have Cerebral Palsy. I live in the beautiful place of Snowmass Village, Colorado. I do have challenges everyday but it doesn’t stop me from living my dreams. I love to horseback ride and I’m the first adaptive snowboarder in the world! Now not many of people can say that, can they?

I love using technology with my disability. I was asked to be on the board so I can help others learn how technology will help them with their disability.

Katie Grange

Katie possesses a powerful combination of compassion and a competitive spirit. She has played a pivotal role in fostering dialogue and establishing networks within the local disability communities, effectively expanding these connections both at a national and global level. Her dedication is evident through her past position on the board of Ascendigo Autism Services, an organization based in the Roaring Fork Valley, which provides invaluable experiential community-based learning opportunities for youth and adults across the autism spectrum.

In the past, Katie also contributed her expertise as a board member of Challenge Aspen, a local organization committed to enriching the lives of individuals with cognitive or physical challenges through meaningful experiences. Her commitment to the betterment of the community extends even further, as she served at the governor’s appointment on the State Council for Developmental Disabilities, where she played a crucial role in advocating for important causes.

Kara Brouhard

I was born and raised in Glenwood Springs.  I live in my own house and it is a “Smart Home.”  I use apps on my iPad to help guide me through my day, and I control a lot of my lights with my voice and Alexa!  Alexa helps me be more independent too because I can ask Alexa all kinds of questions to learn about what is interesting to me.

I feel like I am brave and strong and I like to do things to help others. I like to go and talk to people about how technology can help them be more independent!
